Frequently Asked Questions

(I will add questions and categories overtime as they are asked.)

  • Q: When do you ship?

A: I ship on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Occasionally I will send packages out later in the week depending on what they are. I try to avoid shipping close to the weekend as packages stop moving on Sundays.

Q: How long does it take you to fulfill orders?

A: I try to fulfill them in 1-2 shipping days. I do work fulltime and there is definitely a balance there—so sometimes I may need some patience from folks.

Q: How long does it take for packages to arrive after they’ve been shipped?

    A: Usually 2-3 days.

Q: It’s Monday, why haven’t you fulfilled my order yet?

A: If you ordered after 12pm it’s possible I’m not able to fulfill your order until the next shipping day. This is usually because I have a lot of orders to fulfill on Monday’s from over the weekend.

Q: I ordered but I haven’t gotten tracking information yet?

A: If you ordered on a day that I don’t ship on then tracking information won’t be sent to you until the next soonest shipping day. The tracking number isn’t created until I’ve purchased a label which requires me to enter in a weight of the package. Some items I have a standardized weight for— others I have to weight until I actually pack the order before I can buy a label

Q: What service do you use to ship and why?

A: I use USPS Priority to ship and I use it because it takes the least amount of cost and mental energy. I’m able to fulfill orders by myself due to the simplicity. My research also showed that it wasn’t any worse than other shipping providers. I rarely have had any issues with them so far. If I ever offer next-day shipping though I may use a different service like larger retailers often do (using USPS for 2-3 day but something else for overnight).

Q: How do you pack things to safely arrive?

A: I take care to pack our friends as appropriately as possible. Not including the boxes I use 100% recycled shipping material and often eco-friendly insulation. Depending on the time though, and what I have access to, you may see things like styrofoam and newspaper.

Aquatic animals are packed in heat-sealed poly bags and I do my best to keep packing density low. Fish and mystery snails will be individually bagged.
